Project description: Bingo will be played seven nights a week at this 600-seat Knights of Columbus hall under construction. Friga Construction of Springfield is the construction manager, while Knights of Columbus is serving as its own general contractor. The building is designed with a separate, glass-enclosed smoking area featuring a $14,000 electronic filtration system, said Tom Baron, Knights of Columbus bingo chairman. Knights of Columbus officials are hoping bingo halls will be exempt from a citywide smoking ban under consideration.
