Project description: This multistory parking garage is expected to open in conjunction with the Jordan Valley Park Exposition Center. There will be 977 new parking spaces downtown. According to officials in the city's financing department, funding is derived from $6.6 million lease-revenue bonds to be paid down through user fees, $2.7 million in 1/8th-cent transportation tax, $1.5 million from MoDOT and a $1.2 million Economic Development Administration grant. Office and retail space is available for lease at the garage's ground level. Springfield's Convention & Visitors Bureau is the first confirmed tenant of the car park, leasing 7,000 square feet. More lease space is available, said Jason Haynes, the city's project manager.
