Project description: Jennifer Baker, project manager for Larry Snyder & Co., said the school addition comprises two sections: a 9,500-square-foot Federal Emergency Management Association-approved safety room with a gymnasium, and 3,400 square feet for administrative offices and a new school entrance. A corridor joins the two sections, and Baker said the FEMA room and gymnasium would include a new physical education office. Project funds come from 2009 voter-approved revenue bonds, according to Teresa Bledsoe, community relations manager with Springfield Public Schools.
