Estimated completion date: June Project description: After five months of stalled construction, the Family Life Center addition to Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church has a new targeted completion date and an additional $400,000 in estimated construction costs, said Associate Pastor Jonathan House. During the delay, the original general contractor, Westeel Structures Inc., filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy, according to U.S. Bankruptcy Court filings in the Western District of Missouri. House declined to discuss details for replacing the contractor, but he said no significant design changes resulted. House said the center will include space for Christian education, community outreach, athletic activities, a small commercial kitchen and locker rooms.
