Project description: In developing the $13 million boutique hotel, brothers Billy and John McQueary are adding 8,700 square feet to the former Vandivort office building. Through MBH LLC, the McQuearys are renovating the 44,000-square-foot, 109-year-old building to create 50 hotel rooms, including 14 suites. John McQueary said the four-story addition comprises an 850-square-foot event space on the ground floor, dubbed the Cornerstone Room; six guest rooms on the middle floors; and a 1,500-square-foot master suite on the top floor, featuring an entertaining space with a kitchen, an indoor/outdoor fireplace and a 350-square-foot covered balcony. Rooms, which range between $169 and $409 per night, depending on demand, are being booked on HotelVandivort.com for rooms available in July, McQueary said.
