Project description: Construction on Homewood Suites by Hilton was delayed by rain earlier this year, pushing the original November completion to April 2021, said Geoffrey Butler, a partner at BRP Architects. The five-story hotel on the southern edge of Springfield’s Medical Mile will have 122 rooms and a 3,500-square-foot meeting space, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. Design plans also call for an indoor pool, fitness center and community spaces. Lafayette, Louisiana-based Anjani Management LLC will manage the hotel, according to past SBJ reports. Homewood Suites operates 520 hotels, with the closest property in Joplin.
Taking shape on 3.5 acres just east of State Highway H/Glenstone Avenue in the area of Valley Water Mill Park are the Fulbright Heights Apartments – three 23,000-square-foot buildings with 24 units each for a total of 72 one- and two-bedroom apartments.
