Project description: The former Americas Best Value Inn is being transformed into a shelter for Harmony House to provide care for the victims of domestic violence. Project manager Lowell Thomas said Rich Kramer Construction is adding over 10,000 square feet and remodeling nearly 29,000 square feet of the three-story structure. While increasing the shelter capacity to 160 beds, Thomas said the redesigned space would have a day care, nurse’s area for minor medical needs, administrative offices and a kitchen. Harmony House bought the building for $1.1 million in October.
