Project description: The 6,000-square-foot addition to the south side of the Greene County Archives will allow for additional archive storage on the west side of the building. A large meeting room can be used for computer training, while the east side of the addition includes a small employee kitchen, said Travis Tindall, associate architect at Jennifer Wilson Architect LLC. The project is designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-Silver certification. A second phase will encompass 4,000 square feet of additional storage space. That addition is expected to cost $300,000 and will begin when Phase 1 is complete, according to Greene County Recorder Linda Montgomery. The additions are funded through the county clerk's election services fund, an Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant obtained by the county, and the recorder-user fund, Montgomery said.
