Project description: Freddy’s Frozen Custard franchisee Jamie Rheem of 3 Pointe Restaurant Group LLC opened a Branson store in 2010 and had been looking to add a Springfield-area site to capture population growth. Freddy’s, located across the street from Andy’s Frozen Custard on South Campbell Avenue, derives less than 20 percent of its revenues from custard, Rheem said, with the majority of its sales coming from steak burgers and hot dogs. Wichita, Kan.-based Freddy’s Frozen Custard will be the fourth tenant for the James River Commons shopping center, anchored by Sam’s Club and Academy Sports & Outdoors.
