Project description: Foundation Credit Union is adding a second branch. Formerly known as Springfield Teachers Credit Union, the company served Springfield Public Schools teachers and employees for nearly 80 years before changing its name in December 2011. President and CEO Michele Sechler said the credit union began operating in its own building – not leased from SPS – in July 2012 at 1726 W. Elfindale St. Since the credit union opened membership to anyone living or working in Greene, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Lawrence, Polk and Webster counties, Sechler said the credit union has grown its membership by 200 to roughly 2,500, prompting the expansion plans. Bill Hermann, owner of general contractor Shelby Homes LLC, said the project includes two drive-thru lanes.
