Project description: As F and H Food Equipment prepares to enter its 60th year in business, crews are nearing the finish of a new distribution center and headquarters in north Springfield. President Jeff Ast said the company would more than double its space when it moves from 1526 S. Enterprise Ave. in January or February next year. He said a subsidiary in Nixa, D&D Stainless & Alloys, also will make the move so both companies are under one roof. “We ran out of room, storage and are landlocked where we’re at,” Ast said. F and H Food Equipment makes sanitary processing equipment primarily for food, dairy and beverage clients, such as Kraft Heinz Foods Co., Hiland Diary, McCormick & Co. and Tyson Foods Inc. Ast said about 70 percent of the new buildings is dedicated to distribution, while 20 percent is shop space for stainless steel fabrication and repairs, and the remainder is for offices.
