Owner/developer: Evangel Temple Christian Center General contractor: Williams Construction Architect: R.E. Werner Architect LLC Engineers: CJW Transportation Consultants LLC, civil; Miller Engineering PC, structural; Crocker Consulting Engineers Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing Size: 19,858 square feet Lender: Central Bank of the Ozarks Cost: $3 million Estimated completion: June 1 Project description: After acquiring about eight adjacent homes, Evangel Temple Pastor Charlie Arsenault said the expansion project adds about 10 classrooms, a new foyer and a family life center with a gymnasium. The development is part of a multiyear master plan. “It’s for our school, for our community, for our neighborhood,” Arsenault said. After starting in 1964 at the library of Evangel University, the church soon outgrew the campus space and cleaned out an old dairy barn at the current spot, which was dedicated Jan. 22, 1967. The barn was joined by an A-frame building in 1973 and another 10,000-square-foot addition in the mid-2000s. Now, about 800 people attend services.
