Project Description: On Greene County property between Springfield and Willard, Dollar General Corp. (NYSE: DG) is adding its 15th store in the Queen City and 23rd in the county. Springfield Builders Vice President Tony Hopkins said the contractor has built Dollar General stores for years with developer The Overland Group, which leases the properties to the retail chain. He said Springfield Builders completes 15-20 Dollar General stores a year. The discount retailer plans to employ up to 10 in the store, according to Dollar General spokesperson Mary Kathryn Colbert. Dollar General operates more than 16,000 stores nationwide, selling food, cleaning supplies and basic clothing, among other items.
