Project description: Steven Cook, vice president and general manager of Diamond International of Springfield said the company already has hired five workers as part of its plans to hire 33 during the next three years to support the facility under construction in the New Prime subdivision southwest of Interstate 44 and U.S. Highway 65. He said the dealership for trucking services and supplies would feature 28 service bays and an 18,000-square-foot parts department. Cook said that with assistance through the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Diamond International has qualified for roughly $640,000 in state and local tax credits via the Missouri Department of Economic Development and Springfield’s Enhanced Enterprise Zone tax incentive program.
