Project description: This is a 2,000-square-foot expansion of the existing City Utilities transit operations and fleet management centers, which share the same 4,800-square-foot building. Fleet management takes care of all CU equipment, from buses and dump trucks to lawn mowers, said Transit Director Carol Cruise. The new space will include a lounge for bus operators, conference space for on-site training and a new bus turnout and passenger waiting area. A Federal Transit Administration grant is funding the project, which includes renovation of existing space.
