Project description: It’s the early stages of construction for the new location of the Sparta 24-hour response station of the Christian County Ambulance District, but coming into view is a facility that will include dedicated crew quarters, training and meeting rooms, administrative offices and a fully equipped kitchen and day room. Plans also call for two drive-thru ambulance bays with possible expansion to a third bay to accommodate current and future fleet needs. There is also a wash bay, according to the project architect in past Springfield Business Journal reporting. A community room is also envisioned. The site is on Missouri Route 125, just east of the split with Missouri Route 14, and city officials say a street address has not yet been assigned. The facility will replace a 900-square-foot building to accommodate growth in Sparta; U.S. Census Bureau figures project 2026 population of nearly 2,000, reflecting 6% growth since 2000.
