Posted online
Owner/developer: Cassville R-4 School District
General contractor: R.E. Smith Construction Co. (Joplin)
Architect: Paragon Architecture Inc.
Engineers: Toth & Associates Inc., civil and structural; and Colvin Jones Davis LLC mechanical, electrical and plumbing
Size: 11,362 square feet
Estimated cost: $2.4 million
Lender: None
Estimated completion date: Aug. 1
Project description: Cassville Superintendent Richard Asbill said the multipurpose facility will have a portable stage system, nearly 450 seats and room to accommodate up to 750 people for performances and ceremonies. He said the facility would largely be used by the district’s band and choir groups, though teachers would have access for special presentations or indoor recess. The building is largely funded by a $1.5 million Federal Emergency Management Agency grant, Asbill said, because the structure will function as a FEMA safe room. He said the remainder of the cost is covered by a capital expenditure fund.
