Project description: Owner George Schreiber, 70, still participates in drag races occasionally, but he’s been devoting a great deal of his time to opening this self-funded drag-racing museum. Schreiber, who earned the nickname “Bushmaster” as a young dragster in the early 1960s, will display 30 cars, thousands of photos and other drag-racing memorabilia. He said his collection began in 1952. Bushmaster’s Rockin’ Race Place also will have a barbecue and pizza restaurant and bar, Schreiber said. While construction is slated for completion in December, contractor Rich Kramer said the museum likely wouldn’t open until March due to setup time.
