Project description: Oklahoma City-based W.H. Braum Inc. is constructing its sixth Queen City store on the site of a former Burger King. Operators of the Braum’s restaurant chain bought the 1-acre parcel for an undisclosed amount after it had been listed for sale in mid-2012 at $849,000. The property, which had a 2015 appraised value of $545,400, became available following the bankruptcy filing in December 2010 by Burger King franchisee Burnsville, Minn.-based Duke and King Acquisition Corp. Braum’s spokeswoman Amanda Beuchaw said the company is introducing a new restaurant model with up-to-date features and decor. In addition to ice cream and breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items, the store’s market will be stocked with over 100 meats, fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Beuchaw said the store is slated to open May 2.
