Project description: BigShots Golf will feature 56 driving bays, 3,500 square feet of meeting space, an outdoor putting green, a full restaurant and bar, an activity center for kids and a golf instructional academy, said developer Tim O’Reilly. The project is under construction on nearly 12 acres off the intersection of Glenstone Avenue and Kearney Street where a Kmart store was demolished in 2019, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. O’Reilly said construction is expected to wrap in December, following rain delays in the spring. The project also had trouble getting off the ground last year because of sewer easement issues, according to SBJ reports. O’Reilly declined to disclose the estimated cost of the project, but building permits filed with the city list a $6.5 million declared valuation. O’Reilly’s development is a franchise of Peoria, Illinois-based BigShots Golf LLC.
