Project description: Crews are putting the finishing touches on an expansion to the Bark Yard dog park, a canine day care and overnight boarding facility. The owners say the expansion, added on the south side of the original building, is intended to provide capacity to serve an increasing customer base, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. In an interview, the owners said the additional space would reduce or eliminate the need for clients to make reservations for day care while providing more peak boarding capacity during summer weekends and holidays. The addition is a preengineered metal building set on a concrete foundation with a metal panel exterior and a standing-seam metal roof. The project also includes an expansion of the parking area and improvements to lighting, electrical and heating, ventilation and air conditioning, design officials report.
