Project description: This project at the northeast corner of Republic Road and Kansas Expressway is the fifth Arby’s restaurant owned and operated by Gilbert & Sons. Company principal Bill Gilbert owns and operates all of Springfield’s Arby’s locations, according to architect Tom Street of Springfield-based Erdmann Street Architecture. It is not the only new restaurant in that area, however; Subway is the anchor tenant of the new Kansas Plaza, built and developed by Straus Brothers LLC, and located just north of Arby’s.
