Project description: When complete, this will be the sixth franchise location for Springfield-based Andy’s Frozen Custard. Three Springfield stores are corporate-owned, while locations in Cape Girardeau, Columbia, Osage Beach, Rogers, Ark., and Tyler, Texas, are held by franchisees. Additional franchise locations are set for Jonesboro, Ark., Chicago and Denver. The Branson shop is the first foray into the frozen custard business for the Jalili family, who are in Springfield’s restaurant and nightclub business with Bijan’s, Flame, Touch and Midnight Rodeo. The Jalilis had targeted a spring 2005 opening when they bought the franchise rights. Andy’s franchisees pay a $32,000 franchise fee, plus royalties, in addition to the cost of setting up the business.
