Waltham, Mass.-based Fresenius Medical Care North America is expanding its Springfield presence by opening a second dialysis clinic in the city.
The company, which operates at 1675 E. Seminole St., plans to open its new center in late December or early January at 3359 W. Kearney St., spokesman Jon Stone said.
The clinic, he said, would hold 16 hemodialysis stations and provide peritoneal dialysis services. Fresenius Medical Care, which operates 53 clinics in Missouri, provides dialysis therapy, a blood cleansing procedure to treat kidney failure.
Via SNA Investments LLC, landowner Rick Muenks is developing an 8,540-square-foot building for the clinic, said Bryon Oster, project manager with H Design Group LLC. The architecture firm is working with general contractor Adam Pyle & Associates LLC on the shell of the building.
“It’ll contain nurse stations, treatment rooms, exam rooms, a conference room, staff offices and a staff lounge,” Oster said, noting a separate architect and general contractor would perform the infill work.
He said the shell likely would be completed by late August.
Fresenius Medical Care North America is a division of Germany-based Fresenius Medical Care, according to its website.[[In-content Ad]]
