Joplin-based Freeman Health System announced plans for a new hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Freeman plans to invest $168 million on the 170,000-square-foot, 50-bed hospital in Pittsburg.
“Not only will this new hospital serve the medical and wellness needs of southeast Kansas, but it will also be very good for the local economy," said Freeman CEO Paula Baker. “We estimate that between 500 and 1,000 new jobs will be created as part of this endeavor.”
