Francois Hollande’s hairdresser bill shocks the world

The salary of French President Francois Hollande’s official hairdresser is drawing criticism from the country’s taxpayers and others around the world.

Hollande’s barber makes about $132,000 a year, roughly five times the average French hairdresser, according to CNNMoney.

First reported in a book published in April by two French journalists, the controversy surrounding the price tag has earned the nickname “Coiffeur Gate” as well as comparisons between Hollande and U.S. presidential hopeful Donald Trump on Twitter.
