France unveils plan to tax internet giants

The French government on Wednesday announced a new tax on large internet companies in an attempt to go around tax avoidance measures by international corporations.

The tax on revenue earned in French impacts companies that make global revenues of at least $848 million.

Around 30 companies, including Google, Amazon and Facebook, are affected by the 3 percent tax.
