French President Emmanuel Macron announced the county would build up to 14 new nuclear reactors by 2050.
“What our country needs ... is the rebirth of France’s nuclear industry,” Macron said, referring to the production goal as a “renaissance” for the power source.
Atomic energy provides about 70% of French electricity.
