Fox News sued by parents of slain DNC staffer

The parents of slain Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich sued Fox News.

Rich died in 2016 from what police believe to be a botched robbery.

Fox News in May 2017 published a story that falsely claimed Rich leaked thousands of DNC emails to WikiLeaks just weeks before his death. The story later was retracted.

Rich's parents, Joel and Mary Rich, say the story has caused irreversible damage to them and their son.

“No parent should ever have to live through what we have been forced to endure,” Joel and Mary Rich said in a statement released through their media representative. “The pain and anguish that comes from seeing your murdered son’s life and legacy treated as a mere political football is beyond comprehension.”
