Founding Pregnancy Care Center CEO Cindi Boston is stepping down to take a job with an international organization.
Boston, who has led PCC for 15 years, starts Jan. 18 as vice president of Heartbeat International.
PCC Development Director Kimberly Costello said Boston, who agreed to help ease the transition at the Springfield organization for several months, would move to Columbus, Ohio, the headquarters of the Christian association advocating on behalf of 1,800 anti-abortion organizations.
At PCC, COO Ronn Ramey is stepping into the interim chief executive position. Costello said the organization’s board of directors already has begun the search for Boston’s successor. The job posting would hit PCC’s website following an afternoon news conference today recognizing Boston for her service. Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce President Matt Morrow is scheduled to speak at the 1 p.m. conference at 1342 E. Primrose St.
With Boston at the helm, PCC has served more than 285,000 young people with no-cost pregnancy health and wellness services and relationship education. The nonprofit now employs 22.
“She’s accomplished so much here,” Costello said. “She has been such a fixture in the community.”
