Karla Breeding Trammell, one of the founding members of the Fresh Gallery art co-op in downtown Springfield, died July 6.
Trammell, 65, resided in Bolivar, according to her obituary posted to HolmanHowe.com. A cause of death was not disclosed.
"Karla had been a member of Fresh Gallery since its opening in 2009 and will be greatly missed by all," a Facebook post from Fresh Gallery reads. "She shared her stories and world through her love of art, which she beautifully expressed in many forms. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time."
Trammell was one of the founding members of Fresh Gallery when it opened in 2009. The art gallery moved to 401 Boonville Ave. in 2020, according to past reporting. Trammell was one of the 25 participating artists at the gallery, according to its website.
Trammell's profile at FreshGallery.org indicates she won multiple awards for her artistry, including honors through Watercolor USA at the Springfield Art Museum. She additionally taught art classes at Ozarks Technical Community College.
