Two major projects for St. John's Health System have received a financial boost from St. John's Foundation for Community Health.
The health system said Thursday that $800,000 from the foundation will pay for the completion of major remodeling at Mercy Villa, St. John's long-term care facility at 1100 E. Montclair St. The project entails a larger entrance and lobby, more seating for visitors, a new fireplace and space for a piano. Other updates are a larger reception desk, new offices, a conference room and a drive-up/entry canopy with outdoor seating.
The money comes from the foundation's Mercy Villa care fund, designated by donors for the facility.
A second project - expanded offices for St. John's HospiceCare - received $180,000 from the foundation's HospiceCare fund.
The foundation has awarded more than $1.2 million for internal and external projects so far this fiscal year, which runs through June 30, according to a news release.See SBJ's May 4 issue for In Focus: Commercial Construction, which includes profiles on a number of projects under way in the Ozarks.
