Independence-based FosterAdopt Connect this week is opening its first office in Joplin.
The nonprofit that works with foster children and families with a variety of services also has a location in Springfield.
In Joplin, the city "is in dire need of our programming, and we’re excited to expand that here and meet the needs of our families," said Tom Furrh, branch director for the new office.
