Forum today discusses local transportation priorities

Posted online
The Missouri Transportation Alliance will hold a regional forum in Springfield today to gather input from leaders and the public on local transportation priorities.

The forum will be held 3-5 p.m. at Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, 202 S. John Q. Hammons Parkway. To RSVP, e-mail info@missouritransportation.org and include the number of attendees.

Participants will include Bill McKenna, alliance chairman, and Pat Taylor and Mary Kay Meek, alliance co-chairs for District 8. Kirk Juranas, Missouri Department of Transportation engineer for District 8, also will be there.

Transportation advocates, public officials, local leaders and the public are invited to discuss local transportation priorities to help the alliance build a comprehensive statewide transportation plan in light of the projected funding shortfalls starting in 2009.[[In-content Ad]]
