Fort Worth's tallest building sells for fraction of previous price

The tallest building in Fort Worth, Texas, has sold for a fraction of the price it reached just three years ago.

The 40-story Burnett Plaza was purchased at a foreclosure auction for $12.3 million. It was sold for more than $137.5 million in 2021.

Pinnacle Bank Texas, which bought back the building, alleges the tower's former owner, Burnett Cherry Street LLC, an affiliate of New York-based Opal Holdings LLC, defaulted on a $13 million loan used to purchase the building in 2021.
