Former YMCA building in Joplin being converted into apartments

A former YMCA building in downtown Joplin is being converted into an apartment complex.

Real estate development companies Blue Haven Homes and Bykota LLC plan to convert the building to accommodate 40 apartments and some commercial space.

The renovations are expected to cost $5 million.
