After 16 months in office, Snow resigned in September amid a two-year struggle with colon cancer, and he is hitting the speaker’s circuit with the message: “Battling Adversity.”
Snow will tell his story to C of O students and community members during the Gittinger Community Convocation. There is no charge to attend, and tickets are available beginning Oct. 15 by calling (417) 334-6411 ext. 4200. Seating is limited.
“Mr. Snow’s message will be a good fit with the type of students who are attending College of the Ozarks,” President Jerry C. Davis said in a press release. “They are facing their own hardships and (are fighting) to overcome them.”
Students at the school, also known as Hard Work U, work on campus in exchange for 100 percent of their tuition.
Snow was first diagnosed with cancer in February 2005, and he recently completed his second round of chemotherapy.
Other well-known speakers at the school include Margaret Thatcher, Barbara Bush and Colin Powell.
