Former Wash U chancellor dies

Former Washington University Chancellor William Danforth died at age 94.

Danforth led the St. Louis college for 24 years starting in the 1970s.

During his tenure, Danforth established 70 faculty chairs and increased the school's endowment to nearly $2 billion.
