Former USA Mortgage loan officer pleads guilty to fraud

Joseph Brogan, former loan officer for USA Mortgage/DAS Acquisition Co. LLC, has pleaded guilty to multiple fraud charges related to his time at the St. Louis company.

Brogan, 41, conspired to obtain loan funds by falsifying home loan documents, including by misrepresenting the source of down payments and remodeling expenses, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.

Brogan could receive a sentence of up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million. Sentencing is scheduled May 14.
