Former St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner admitted to misusing public funds.
Gardner made the admission as part of a federal diversion agreement in which she will submit to a pretrial diversion program for 18 months. During that time, she must avoid violating any laws and report to a pretrial services officer.
Gardner admitting to directing her employees to issue her checks from the office's contingent fund account. She used the funds to pay fees associated with a Missouri Supreme Court order against her.
