Former Springfield City Councilman Nick Ibarra pleaded guilty yesterday to two counts of second-degree assault, tampering with evidence and unlawful use of a weapon in connection with two cases, according to KSPR.
On Nov. 24, 2011, Ibarra was involved in an incident where he dragged two people with his car, injuring both of them. Police believe he hid a beer bottle in his car at the time of the incident.
On New Year's Day 2012, Police were notified of a disturbance after Ibarra threatened to shoot himself and his wife with a handgun, according to KSPR.
Ibarra, who resigned his council seat on Jan. 4, 2012, could receive prison time after his guilty pleas.
