Missouri State University hired former Springfield First Community Bank CEO Rob Fulp for a newly created position.
Fulp is joining his alma mater as executive in residence, according to a news release. In the position, he'll provide business assistance for the MSU College of Business, the Efactory business incubator and the MSU Foundation.
"I believe this partnership will be a great match," MSU President Clif Smart said in the release. "His love of the university and experience and roots in Springfield’s business community will help our students in the College of Business and entrepreneurs at the Efactory."
For the College of Business, Fulp will help with curriculum enhancement, guest lecturing, alumni and student relations, career advising and partnership development. He'll work with the Efactory to advise and support its business accelerator cohort program, as well as help build its investor network. Fulp separately serves as a member of the College of Business executive advisory board and the MSU Foundation board.
"My plan is to share my passion, work ethic and team concept with the students at Missouri State University," Fulp said in the release. "I want to take my success and make a significant impact on students."
Fulp will work 20 hours per week. MSU spokesperson Andrea Mostyn said he would earn $5,000 per month.
Fulp's former employer, SFC Bank, announced his retirement in January after nine years leading the organization. He was succeeded by Monte McNew.
