Pittsburg State University’s former College of Business director faces federal charges for defrauding Nigerian graduate students while recruiting them to attend the school.
Last Wednesday, Michael Muoghalu was indicted with one count of wire fraud and one cound of money laundering.
According to the Joplin Regional Business Journal, the indictment alleges that starting in 2006, Muoghalu wrongfully had PSU fund approximately $148,000 to the students. He then allegedly directed the students to pay him portions of the refunds.
He resigned Sept. 15.
