Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon filed charges in September against Aaron E. Gulick, former owner of Classic Kitchens and Interiors, who Nixon says accepted more than $52,000 in deposits for the cabinets between May and October 2004. The complaint claims Gulick closed his business before delivering the merchandise or issuing refunds.
Gulick was arraigned Oct. 11 and entered a plea of not guilty. His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 16.
The Class D felony counts are in violation of the Merchandising Practices Act. Gulick could serve up to four years in prison and pay up to $50,000 in fines if convicted.
