Southern Missouri Bank of Marshfield has hired Sterling Huff Jr. as an executive vice president.

Huff, who most recently served as a business manager at Ozarks Technical Community College's Center for Workforce Development, worked for about a year and a half as president and CEO of Metropolitan National Bank before his abrupt November 2011 exit.

The 25-year banking veteran joined Missouri Bank of Marshfield last month, according to a news release.

"With his experience in the banking industry, he will be an invaluable asset to our customers," Southern Missouri Bank of Marshfield President and CEO Jerry Morgan said in the release.

Huff joins a banking system with three locations, 42 employees and $100 million in assets. Southern Missouri Bank of Marshfield holds $75.2 million in deposits, representing less than 1 percent of the Springfield metropolitan statistical area market share as of June 30, according to Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. data.
