A former Johnson County District Court employee in Olathe, Kansas, has been charged with embezzlement.
Dawna Brandt is accused of allegedly using her position as accounting supervisor in the court clerk's office to redirect more than $1 million in funds to her personal bank accounts.
Brandt allegedly wrote false clerk of court checks in an attempt to cover up the scheme, prosecutors say.
