The former John Q. Hammons Holiday Inn in Joplin is slated to be demolished.
Officials with Nashville-based property owner HDDA LLC said reworking the property was determined to not be financially feasible. The vacant hotel has been subject to vandalism and theft of copper wire and metal pipes.
HDDA had been investigating whether the building could be remodeled as a Four Points Sheraton.
