The St. Louis Post-Dispatch attempted to contact dozens of people who worked on Gov. Eric Greitens' 2016 campaign. Of a handful who agreed to speak, five said they signed nondisclosure agreements.
According to the Post-Dispatch, the use of NDAs was widespread, even among low-ranking volunteers.
One former campaign associate who spoke anonymously said the NDAs — and implicit threats from Greitens’ current allies — have created a "chilling effect" for those who have information they may wish to share publicly.
The anonymous source said former employees “almost feel like this could be a muzzle preventing them from talking about their experience working for Eric."
