Last edited 9:47 a.m., June 5, 2013The former home of Galloway Station restaurant and bar has been listed for sale on the market for $425,000.
The roughly 2,500-square-foot property at 4211 S. Lone Pine Ave. had housed Galloway Station since 1995 until a
landlord-tenant dispute sent owners Emi and Klaus Greinke three miles west to space leased from Jared Enterprises.
The property is listed by Murney Associates, Realtors commercial real estate agent Chris Pellham, who referred questions to owner Ron McCracken. He did not respond to phone calls by deadline. Pellham noted McCracken was showing the property yesterday afternoon.
Galloway Station co-owner Emi Greinke, who also could not be reached for comment,
previously told Springfield Business Journal that three years of negotiations to purchase or renew the lease of the South Lone Pine Avenue building ended after landlord McCracken, via Ron’s Properties LLC, turned down a $300,000 purchase offer and refused to extend the lease. According to SBJ archives, there had been years of tension regarding needed structural repairs.
Galloway Station's last day in Galloway Village was April 29, and owners Emi and Klaus Greinke signed a one-year lease with Jared Properties at 1281 E. Republic Road.
A Galloway Station worker who answered the phone at the new location said the restaurant would be open for business on June 7.[[In-content Ad]]
