A former co-owner of a St. Louis business has been sentenced for fraud.
Brian Kowert, who previously served as chief operating officer and project manager at Clayton-based HBD Construction Inc., was sentenced to a year and a half in prison.
He was accused of avoiding minority contractor requirements on a project that received city tax breaks, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
